New York Fashion Week// What I Wore

Happy New York Fashion Week everyone! It’s officially one of my favorite weeks of the year and I could not be more excited! This year, I wasn't able to see as much as I wanted to see for fashion week because I'm still getting adjusted to being at Marist. I had planned on going to the Samsung  x WWD event in Chelsea, as well as an event hosted by the New York headquarters of Instagram, a photoshoot, and some other events as well, but I wasn't able to sadly. I was able to travel into the city on Saturday night for a couture fashion show, which was fabulous!

This year, I went to the a couture fashion show compiled of four or five designers. My mom was invited because her company (Lenzing) was sponsoring the event. Each designer created around ten pieces, most of them were dresses or sophisticated business looks. I really enjoyed seeing each piece and the way that they designed them. As you can see by the pictures, there were a lot of different silhouettes and hemlines that each designer incorporated into their collections.

Out of all the designers, my favorite was Pawan Kumar. His collection revolved around the theme of "blue". He named each outfit after someone, and the best one just happened to be named after my mom (so, of course that one is going to be my favorite)!

As far as my outfit goes (because you always have to look like you fit in when going to a fashion show), I decided to wear my yellow puff sleeved top with my leather black shorts (similar look) for a more grunge look. I paired up the outfit with my Zara platform Doc Martens, which are super trendy now. I thought the outfit would be perfect for fashion week because everyone these days is sporting the puff sleeve and Doc Marten look!
