Shop the Gram

Shop the Gram has been a HUGE deal lately for all stores, and it's been a big deal for us too! Shopping on social media, particularly Instagram, has become a way to not only look at people in the outfit, but it has also become a source of shopping online. They have now made it so the picture links directly to the outfit, and you can buy it with two clicks. Stores also have started to attach pictures of "real" people in their clothing. This way, customers will be able to see what it looks like with someone other than a model and see how other people would wear that product. I think this way is a very good example of how the product is used. While I was at my FIT workshop, the teacher had mentioned, "people have to be told how to wear something, rather than just figuring it out for themselves because they don't WANT to be creative with the way they wear it." I feel like that applies to shop the gram, and it's a good way for stores to use it to their advantage to show off how to wear their products. Shop the gram gives a clear way of how they want the product to be worn, and it also allows their customers to get more exposure on Instagram by wearing their products. This helps bloggers, like me, to have a way to get more followers. If someone is looking online and sees an outfit they think is pretty, they will often not only become more interested in the brand, but also the person wearing it because they may have the same taste of style. So, really, the Shop the Gram is a win win for everyone!
